Ictalarus punctatus or channel catfish is an excellent addition to any aquaponic system. They are cold hardy and are a delicious source of protein. On average they grow between 12 and 24 inches weighing 2 to 8lbs. They continue to grow , with the largest being 58 lbs and 52 inches in length. They also co habitat with tilapia quite well! Fish are between 3” and 5 “ currently . Remember the world record for channel cats is 143 lb and 58” in length!!! Holy smokes folks! If possible please order catfish on separate order from tilapia.
